Material cost to make the iPod nano estimated to be around $90

Tom's Hardware Guide: Tom's Hard News

Apple is known for wrapping fancy covers around very economically produced products, so it may not be too surprising when the company also achieves a substantial profit margin on its latest portable audio player, iPod nano.

Joe:
Damn you Apple! Just when I was starting to warm up to you. Greedy MFers! I can't wait till someone brings out a better and more hip mp3 player and kills the iPod.

Now, Apple luvers... Don't come to my piece of the internet and bash my opinion here. I own a 3rd gen iPod and an iPod shuffle. I just hate big companies and their greed...all of em!

Google Made Opera Browser Free

Om Malik’s Broadband Blog » Google Made Opera Browser Free

Joe:
First if you don't know what Opera is and/or you didn't know it was now free: Opera is an award-winning browser that unless you keep up with technology you probably never heard of it. Yes, everyone has heard about Firefox now a days, but this wasn't true for Opera. I think the big reason was that it wasn't FREE. Firefox came out of the gate FREE. I won't pretend to know a lot about Opera since I didn't even give it a try back when it was out and getting all sorts of praises, but now that it is full up FREE (not even an add banner in sight) I will be trying it out.

Now for what the article above is really there to tell you: Looks like the reason that Opera became FREE was because of Google. They struck some compensation deals with the search engines out there, and of course the big dogg Google was the important deal that made it all happen.

Read the article for more detailed info and download and try out Opera by going to:

Got Scars?

Hey everyone...
Friend of mine and RN posted this info for anyone that have surgery scars they would like to fade away:

Having had many skin cancers removed this year as well as foot surgery, I found myself left with some scars that I didn't like.
My Dermatologist. Dr. Martha Post in Lexington in case anyone needs a good one, recommended the Neosporin Scar patches, and I'll have to say I'm impressed and wish I had known about them way before now. Of course they are relatively new on the market, and expensive at anywhere from 28.00-32.00 !

You place one on the scar and leave it for 12 hours each day for 4 days, and then use a new one. There is a 12 week supply which is more than enough to do the job. In fact, I cut one patch into 3 small ones, as I have many smaller incision scars. Works on old scars as well in reducing them. Newer scars it works even better!

Handbook for bloggers

Reporters sans frontières - Handbook for bloggers and cyber-dissidents

Blogs get people excited. Or else they disturb and worry them. Some people distrust them. Others see them as the vanguard of a new information revolution. Because they allow and encourage ordinary people to speak up, they’re tremendous tools of freedom of expression.
Bloggers are often the only real journalists in countries where the mainstream media is censored or under pressure. Only they provide independent news, at the risk of displeasing the government and sometimes courting arrest.
Reporters Without Borders has produced this handbook to help them, with handy tips and technical advice on how to to remain anonymous and to get round censorship, by choosing the most suitable method for each situation. It also explains how to set up and make the most of a blog, to publicise it (getting it picked up efficiently by search-engines) and to establish its credibility through observing basic ethical and journalistic principles.

Joe:
I downloaded this. Gonna take a gander at it...don't wanna get in trouble! Plus it may have some cool stuff in there. It is 87 pages long. Don't know how much fluff yet... I will keep you updated.

Downloading NES games on your Nintendo Revolution won't be FREE...

Games.net Outside Review Viewer

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has denied rumours that the company plans to distribute its first-party back catalogue for free on the forthcoming Revolution console, but said that some old games may be used as bonus or trial content.

Joe:
Damn them!!!
I was sooo pumped about the next gen Nintendo playing all old NES games. I knew the stuff about free was rumors, but I thought what the hell...why not free. Now I am not sure if I will get this system. First the controller looks stupid...now we are gonna have to prob pay for a subscription and per download for old NES games if we wanna play them... 360 is looking better now.

USA Today writer calls Apple users "Blind Lemmings"

USA Today writer calls Apple users "Blind Lemmings"

What is wrong with Mac users and Apple fans? I mean that -- I've never seen the like. Calling them "blind lemmings" doesn't always seem strong enough.

Joe:
Hey, I don't hate apple anymore...
But they are so right in this article. MAC/Apple users (or most of em) are so closed minded to anything non Apple that it really gets on my nerves.

bit-tech.net | Everyone in WoW has AIDS

In an absolutely bizarre turn of events, a virtual disease is spreading through the World of Warcraft servers, killing off characters everywhere it spreads. The disease is a direct result of a new in-game instance created by Blizzard, which appears to be working not quite how it was intended.

Joe:
OMG! This is awsome. Makes me wanna sign back up just to see it in action. Gonna try to find me some vids of this...im sure they will be plenty comming out. haha Classic shit!
